 | | | Wireless Internet 101 What is WAP?
Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) is a communications protocol that formats Web data for transmission over Wireless Internet connections, letting you access information on the Internet with a wireless phone or other wireless device.
Can I access every site on the Web?
No, the microbrowser in the Internet-enabled phones can only access sites that are in WML (Wireless Markup Language) format. If you enter an HTML or HDML address, you will receive an error message on your phone's screen.
Can I search for Web sites from my wireless device?
Yes. Remember that Web sites need to be specifically designed to work on your wireless device and that sites accessible from your personal computer will not be accessible from your wireless device.
